Answer: Role of SFIA in implementation of career plan Skills Framework For Information Age (SFIA), is an important concept for the Information Technology (IT) professionals and it denotes a model which manages competencies for the IT professionals. It is a conglomerate of 30 organizations governed by the British Computer Society. Primarily there are six core areas of this model and this can be divided into: Development and implementation, Change and Transformation, Strategy and Architecture, Quality and skills and engagement and relationships. Moreover, the overall operations of SFIA are managed by the SFIA foundation and it works as a non-profit organization and has several corporate tie-ups (von Konsky et al., 2014). SFIA plays an important role in the career of the professional if the professional is able to leverage correctly the benefits of this particular model. On the other hand, SFIA does not helps in building businesses, but it will help the organizations and the professionals in achieving the objectives and goals. The benefits achieved in implementing this Framework are as follows: This framework helps the individuals in working towards identical goals and build a proper career which will help the individuals in the long run and at the same time the goals of the companies are also achieved (Herbert et al., 2013). SFIA skills will help the individuals in having clarity of the work done by them and gain ICT skills, which will be invaluable. Moreover, the ICT skills that are gained by the individual is accepted on a global scale and the professional will not have to worry about any employment options thereafter. The skills gained are standardized and useful across all scenarios. There are specific skill gaps that are found in the IT industry and this particular framework helps the professional gain skills that are targeted towards that specific skill set. It can be concluded from the statements hat after gaining the skills, the professionals will be in demand and the skills that are gained by the professionals will help them in the long term. It helps in maximizing the return on the investments and also helps in predicting the future skills that are needed in achieving the goals and objectives of the company. More gaining the specific skill sets will help the professionals in getting better prospects and get higher packages in the workplace. With such skill sets the professional will be able to negotiate for better packages (Herbert et al., 2013). The skills set that the professionals gathers after completing the course, they can apply for a variety of job roles, like Chief Information Officer, General Manager, Business Analyst, Software Developer, ICT Consultant, ICT Architect and as a business development manager. All the job roles need specific skill sets and the SFIA is a common skill sets across all the job roles. Moreover, there is a high amount of mobility in the job market; the professional can shift roles in the organizations. Professional advice in the area of Networking Networking is an important area of the professional field and the value of the networking is immense. Networking helps to grow the professional as a person and at the same time improve the different job opportunities options of the professionals. In the competitive ear, when the number of job openings is less and narrow it is very much crucial for the professionals to do correct networking. Correct networking means reaching at the right spot at the right time. This will only be possible when the professionals have a vast array of networking skills and have the capability to network properly. Upon researching the different networking methods, it is evident that there are some networking skills that the networker needs to follow in details. The networking options that are available over internet are different job searching sites and professional networking sites like LinkedIn (Tawar Rai, 2014). Professional networking sites is gaining popularity by each passing day due to the convenience it provides. Moreover, in the professional networking sites the professional can search for the groups and activities of his own interest. Groups over internet help the professional in sharing different ides as well as helps in identifying the newly generated job opportunities as per the penchant of the professional. Networking over the internet forms a tiny portion of the overall networking. Another important part, which the networker has to do, is meeting the persons in real life and there are many rules and regulations for the networking. In real life, networking is important for the professional and at the same time, adhering to the different rules is an important part (Kane, 2013). The basic attitude that the networker needs to have an enterprising person attitude and must stick to the above mentioned rules.
